Message from the Administrator |
Click here to view Dr. Charles Pearson as he gives insight on the Friendly Town Child Development Center and the Friendly Temple Christian Academy in this informational video.
Charles Pearson has been an Educator for 30 years and served as an Administrator for nine of those years. He brings 12 years of experience in professional development, leading curriculum and instruction, and training in diversity issues. He has been a member of Friendly Temple since 1975 and served as a teacher in several ministries.
He and his wife have three children and four grandchildren. Dr. Pearson received his Bachelors from Henderson State University, his Masters from Southern Illinois University, and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from St. Louis University. We are excited that he is bringing his background to FTCA as he answers the call to lead our school and make a difference in the lives of our children and the community we serve.
Dr. Pearson in his own words…
A Vision/Mission statement provides the ultimate objective of an organization. It drives every decision, action, and planned outcome. It also measures every success and failure of the organization. The FTCA Vision/Mission Statement emphasizes developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that leads to the development of each child’s abilities and talents. As a result, the children we serve will become responsible citizens, leaders in society and effective Disciples of Christ. As the School Administrator, I am committed to this Vision/Mission along with the Board and leadership of FTMBC. This is a promised land we are ready to go forth and claim!

We strive to be a distinctively Christian school known for providing high academic excellence and spiritual standards. We seek to meet the diverse needs of students by providing a curriculum that is academically challenging and technologically advanced
Philosophy of Education
“…FTCA views education as a means of revealing and integrating God’s truth into the lives of children. We believe in educating the whole student through experiential learning and a constructivist approach. We want to ensure a culture and climate of collaboration, high expectation, and moral integrity to guarantee that students and staff thrive, achieve, and experience academic success. We believe in providing the best teachers to our students and supporting the teachers in best practices in instruction. The heart of our program is to develop partnerships between the school and home…”
