Our Mission and Goals
The Mission of the Friendly Temple Child Development Center is to passionately pursue the work of educating students by integrating the Word of God in every subject matter and in all aspects of life.

Goals for Pre-school at FTCDC are based upon the following Early Childhood principles/beliefs of learning. These beliefs are foundational to the academic and spiritual goals that follow.

  • All children actively seek to understand the world in which they live.
  • Children construct knowledge and values through interactions with peers, parents, other adults, and exploration.
  • Early learning and areas of development interact and influence each other.
  • Families (parents) are the child’s first and most important teacher(s).
  • Children express themselves through a variety of ways using a variety of media.
  • Young children are able to engage in complex thinking when problems are presented in developmentally appropriate ways.

    Friendly Temple Teachers
    Image
The quality of a teacher makes the difference in your child's learning and happiness and the strength of our teachers really makes us different. The Friendly Temple teachers come to us with a variety of early childhood education backgrounds and professional experiences. They all have at least one thing in common - a love of working with children and a passion for teaching.

These dedicated professionals are required to go through an extensive training program that gives them a thorough understanding of the program’s standards and curriculum.

    Learning Environment
    Image
Children are born with a natural God-given intelligence. They are natural learners able to understand complex ideas as long as those ideas are presented in an age-appropriate manner. The learning environment will be designed to treat students as capable learners. Adults will spend time observing students, analyzing how each student learns, and daily planning ways to move the thinking of their students forward. The environment will be filled with materials that stimulate learning and build on the natural curiosity of children. Spaces will be child-friendly and engaging in order to “provoke learning.”
